This 13-day journey takes you from the textile hubs of Ahmedabad to the sacred peaks of Palitana, the tribal villages of Kutch, and the serene Arabian Sea coastline.

Day 1 – 2: Ahmedabad: Textiles & Traditions Begin in India’s first UNESCO World Heritage City. Explore the Calico Museum, housing centuries of global textile history. Visit the Sabarmati Ashram, Mahatma Gandhi’s former home, and the Sarkhej Roza complex. Contrast the minimalist mosques with the ornate carvings of local Jain temples.

Day 3: The Ancient Road to Palitana Join a morning Heritage Walk through the narrow “pols” (lanes) of Old Ahmedabad. Later, drive to Palitana, stopping at Lothal, a significant 4,000-year-old Indus Valley Civilization port city.

Day 4: The 3,500 Steps of Shatrunjaya Rise before dawn to climb Shatrunjaya Hill. Reaching the summit reveals a breathtaking “City of Temples” with over 850 marble structures. After descending, visit the town’s Jain Art Museum and nearby Adipur village.

Day 5 – 6: Sasan Gir: The Lion’s Sanctuary Head south to Gir National Park, the final refuge of the Asiatic Lion. Over two days, enjoy morning and evening jeep safaris. Beyond lions, keep an eye out for leopards, sambar deer, and the unique four-horned antelope.

Day 7: Princely Legacies (Junagadh & Gondal) Explore the ancient Uparkot Fort and the flamboyant royal mausoleums of Junagadh. Continue to Gondal to visit the Naulakha Palace and its museum of princely memorabilia. End the day at a breeding center for the famous Kathiawadi horses.

Day 8 – 9: Bhuj & The Wonders of Kutch Drive into the Rann of Kutch, a vast landscape of salt marshes. In Bhuj, visit artisan cooperatives like Qasab to witness the preservation of indigenous embroidery and wood carving. Spend Day 9 venturing into northern tribal villages to meet semi-nomadic artisans.

Day 10: Coastal Mandvi Retreat to the Arabian Sea. Visit Mandvi’s traditional shipbuilding yards where wooden dhows are still hand-built without nails. Relax on the golden sands of India’s longest private beach.

Day 11: The Little Rann of Kutch (Dasada) Traverse the salt flats to reach Dasada. Embark on a safari in the Wild Ass Sanctuary, home to the rare Asiatic Wild Ass (Khur) and spectacular birdlife, including flamingos and cranes.

Day 12: Sun Temples & Stepwells Visit the Modhera Sun Temple, a masterpiece of 11th-century Hindu architecture, and the Rani ki Vav in Patan—an incredibly deep and ornate UNESCO-listed stepwell. Continue to the hills of Danta.

Day 13: Danta to Ahmedabad & Departure Explore the agricultural life of local villages and the marble carvings of the Taranga Jain Temples. Return to Ahmedabad in the afternoon for your flight to Delhi, Mumbai, or an onward drive to Udaipur.
